Product Development
The success of the development of an efficient energy material can only be appreciated through the development of appropriate systems which can effectively utilize the developed material. This gives the scope for product development in material research in particular and research as whole. For a material scientist research equipment for sample preparation and appropriate reactors/ devices for material testing is indispensable. Keeping this in mind our group in association with motivated undergraduate engineering students tries to develop low-cost research equipment for material synthesis and solar energy assisted utilities for the needy. In addition to the product development, our group conducts training/workshops to create awareness and to train skilled manpower in solar energy utilization and equipment design.
Solar E-rickshaw
Our group has developed a solar powered rickshaw with foldable solar panels whose alignment can be modified to get the best possible solar efficiency while the vehicle is static. The solar panels are foldable and are mounted on the mild steel frame using hinges and a pair of rods with lock arrangement to support and change the alignment of the solar panels.
Research Equipment Design and Testing
Our group understands the need of research on engineering the materials particularly for green energy production and clean environment. However, the sophisticated equipment for material synthesis/fabrications are costly and inaccessible. That limits majority of the researchers who wants to pursue their carrier in this field. Considering the above our group has started developing low cost synthesis/fabrication equipment such as Dip Coating Unit, SILAR Coating Unit, Electrical Characterization system for Powder Samples and photocatalytic reactors etc.
