Ms. Trinayana Deka has joined as Ph.D. scholar in the lab at 2019. She has completed her M.Sc. in Applied Physics from NIT Silchar in the year 2017. Her current research interest is in sensitized metal oxide semiconductor photocatalysts for Solar Photocatalytic applications. She is also working as Research Assistant in Central XRD facility, NIT Silchar since 2018. She subsequently joined as a Ph.D. scholar in the lab in February 2019. She has submitted her Ph.D. thesis on the topic ‘Plasmonic Titania based heterojunction photocatalyst for clean energy production and environmental remediation' in April 2025 under the guidance of Dr. Ranjith G. Nair.
Ms. Pujita N.

Ms. Pujita Ningthoukhongjam completed her M.Sc. in Physics from the University of Delhi in 2017. She joined NIT Silchar as a part of a DST-SERB sponsored project here at SMaRT Lab in October 2018. She subsequently joined as a Ph.D. scholar in the lab in July 2019. She has submitted her Ph.D. thesis on the topic ‘Multiphasic Titania based Heterojunctions for Multifunctional Solar Energy Applications' in March 2025 under the guidance of Dr. Ranjith G. Nair.
Dr. Nikhil S. K
Dr. Nikhil S.K completed his M.Sc Physics from Taliparamba Arts and Science College, Kannur University, Kerala. Prior to joining the group he had worked as guest lecturer in physics. Dr. Nikhil S.K joined the NIT Silchar as a part of IUAC sponsored project in the year 2018 He received his Ph.D. degree in 2025 under the guidance of Dr. Ranjith G. Nair for his work on ‘Studies on visible active transition metal doped biphasic TiO2 photocatalyst for solar energy applications'

Dr. Suma Das obtained her M.Sc. in Applied Physics from National Institute of Technology, Silchar in 2017. She received her Ph.D. degree in 2025 under the guidance of Dr. Ranjith G. Nair and Dr. Avijit Chowdhury for her work on ‘Studies on Magnetically Separable g-C3N4- based Heterojunctions for Solar Photocatalytic Dye Degradation and H2 Evolution'

Dr. Abinash Das
Assistant Professor, PSG Institute of Advanced Studies, Coimbatore, Tamilnadu.
Dr. Abinash Das obtained his M.Sc. in Applied Physics from National Institute of Technology, Silchar in 2015. He completed his post-graduate project under Dr. Ranjith G. Nair, and later, he joined the same institute as a Ph.D. scholar. He received his Ph.D. degree in 2021 under the guidance of Dr. Ranjith G. Nair for his work on ‘Studies on the role of surface morphology and type-II heterojunction on the improved photocatalytic performance of ZnO'.
